The Team
Cyril Ravilly, Founding Partner
Cyril worked for five years in investment banking at Lazard Frères & Cie, then spent five years as Head of Mergers & Acquisitions at Thales Group, overseeing all the Group’s M&A operations. He subsequently spent five years managing units in the international naval services sector at Thales and DCNS, where he notably headed DCN Log for two years (350 employees, €120m in revenue). He then joined the DCNS Group Strategy Department as Project Manager to the Chairman.
Since 2010, he has led his own firm, supporting both major corporations and SMEs. Throughout his career, he has advised on more than one hundred M&A transactions, from origination to closing. Cyril Ravilly is currently Managing Partner of Financière Cincinnatus and Fincin Conseil.
Cyril also spent five years teaching at Sciences Po Paris, where he was a lecturer for the Mergers & Acquisitions course in the postgraduate corporate finance program. He was the Founding President of the 3T Alumni Association (www.3Talumni.net), which brings together former employees of the Thomson Group’s various entities (Thales, Technicolor, etc.).
He is an alumnus of a national IHEDN session (ESM #2) and published, in 2016, a reference book on tennis tactics (Les fondamentaux tactiques).
Philip Vivier, Senior Advisor
Philip worked for eleven years in investment banking at Lazard Frères & Cie, then spent five years as Head of Mergers & Acquisitions at Bank of America Merrill Lynch, where he oversaw all M&A transactions in France for both French and international clients, and covered France-based investment funds.
Since 2012, he has worked independently for major corporations as well as smaller companies in the infrastructure, energy, and industrial sectors. He currently advises the family office of GFG Alliance, a global player in steel, aluminium, and energy.
Over the course of his career, he has completed more than one hundred M&A transactions in a wide variety of areas - including solicited and hostile public offers, disposals, spin-offs, and mergers - along with numerous equity offerings for public companies, debt restructurings, and court-appointed takeovers.
In parallel, Philip spent six years teaching at Sciences Po Paris as a lecturer in financial analysis, valuation, and advanced M&A. For five years, he also taught at HEC Paris, covering public offers in France as well as corporate and LBO debt restructuring.
In the aerospace and defense sector, Philip has worked on around a dozen transactions (Thales, Airbus, EADS, Photonis, CNIM). Most recently, he advised Industry on the takeover of SMFI Tarbes (December 2019) and Eolane on the sale of its MCO business in Les Ulis to Hemeria (July 2020).
Matteo Paddeu, Senior M&A Analyst
Matteo has completed a specialised program in Corporate Finance through the Grande École Programme at Grenoble EM, as well as at the University of Cambridge and Bocconi University. He has extensive experience in finance, particularly in data analysis and modelling, notably at Chanel. As a private pilot in civil light aviation for several years, he has a strong understanding of both the technical aspects of the aerospace sector and its strategic environment.
Passionate about geopolitics and national sovereignty issues, he aims to apply his analytical skills and knowledge of the ecosystem to support the consolidation of the defense industrial and technological base (BITD).
Viktor Kornfeld, M&A Analyst - Scandinavia
Viktor is a student in the BSc Business and Economics program at the Stockholm School of Economics in Sweden. With his dual French-Swedish background, he is committed to identifying and pursuing M&A opportunities between France and Sweden in the defense and aerospace sectors.
